Welcome to Week 1 Term 1 of 2024!

The ICT GISP has lots of immersive experiences ready for you and your students this year. We continue to link all that we offer to our 4 pillars - Cyber Security, Gaming, Technopreneurship and Tech for Life. The demand for students pursuing a career pathway into technology has never been stronger as stated in the recent ACS Digital Pulse research findings.

The report states that we will need 1.3 million tech professionals by 2030 which is only 6 years away - simply put, when your current year 7's are in year 12 (and we all know how quickly that happens). Research has shown that boys are 4 times more likely than girls to pursue STEM and technology based subjects as teenagers with 16% of boys and only 4% of girls choosing to study technology. Improving the gender balance and doing everything we can to promote and facilitate inclusion in our industry is a key driver for us on the ICT GISP - and to be honest, it is this that gets me leaping out of bed in the morning! To help with this we have joined forces with Girls Day Out in STEM who run amazing programs for girls of school age.

As we start the final year of this specific ICT GISP project, we look forward to working with you to deliver another great year of immersion and opportunities for students considering a career pathway in technology
